We often use the word “genius” to describe people, but in Roman culture “genius” described places. In this episode of RePlacing Church, I introduce the concept of the Genius Loci and talk about why it matters for church and mission by exploring the writings of Thomas Moore, activist/theologian Ched Meyers' “Watershed Discipleship,” and the late Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah.”
